I’m not the person you knew 20 years ago - fresh out of high school, eager to experience life, scared but excited for the joy ride. There are wrinkles around my eyes, my hair is gray, my life experiences have grown, and my mind has expanded. I’m not the person you fell in love with. I’m not that same youthful, spirited girl who laughed at the night sky and danced in the moonlight. I saw too much of the world, with its darkness and unfortunate truth. Once I was a dreamer, and now I am a realist. Fanciful thoughts have faded away and my mind has shifted and been transformed. We are so scared of change. But change happens as often as the tides roll in from the sea. I may not be the person you once knew, but you’ll always find me in your memories until I fade away completely.
