Prompt: “Animal Intelligence”

Snails have recently been used to study memory and learning, and are
teaching us a lot about how our own neurons function in retaining
information. Scientists have discovered “overlapping mechanisms”
through studying snails, meaning that when two similar tasks were
taught, only the memory of the first task was retained. This is only
one example of the discoveries made by Dr. Crossley at the University
of Sussex, stating that “Up until now, we weren’t sure which factors
were causing a memory to be remembered or forgotten.” Though snails
are vastly different from humans, our brains have important parallels
that are helping us understand our brains differently.

Why do I always gravitate towards bridges when making these things?
Maybe I’m interested in what’s under them? Probably the water.
It’s how we interact with these random bits of nature. These forgettable moments on an unremarkable drive.
One could think of them as monuments.
Is trash a monument? All the plastic I’ve ever used will definitely outlive me.
We’ve used our intelligence but was all of it a good idea?
