“In the days of youtube vlogs, I followed the story of "Marble Hornets", a found footage series that told the story of a mysterious being that haunted the film makers and those who chose to participate in the project. The series follows Jay Merrick, a young man who attempts to find out what happened during the filming of Marble Hornets, an unfinished student film project created by his friend, Alex Kralie. Alex had abruptly ended the project after only three months of production, whereafter he left the tapes of raw footage with Jay, cut contact with him, and transferred schools. Three years later, Jay decides to watch the tapes, and uploads them to YouTube in the form of "Entries". Through the footage, he discovers that the filming of "Marble Hornets" was tampered with by the menacing presence of a humanoid figure known as "The Operator". It became apparent to me after spending time on Creepy Pasta that this creature was in fact, Slenderman. Each week I looked forward to uncovering this mystery with Jay, hoping to catch a glimpse of this haunting figure.”

“The base in this story is in a finnish saying "don’t twist your face or the wind will turn and your face will stay that way". This urban legend lives between children in all generations. It sticks in a kid's minds during an age before ghost-stories about disappearing
hitchhikers or homeless people living under your bed if you live in a first floor. Normally an urban legend happens to someone we almost know, an uncles neighbour, but the kid in this poem, they know these things personally and they assure you to believe it too.”
